New St. Paul’s Hospital
The New St Paul’s is the largest hospital redevelopment in British Columbia, Canada. Located in downtown Vancouver, it is a full-service Acute Care Facility located on a new integrated health campus. As a leader in energy modeling and sustainability consultancy, Edge has played an integral role in the sustainable design of the New St. Paul’s Hospital project.
In 2023 a comprehensive energy and carbon target model was completed for 100% design, highlighting sophisticated design integrations in lighting, HVAC and energy systems; achieved in collaboration with the BC Ministry of Health, Providence Health Care, and PCL Construction. With a relentless pursuit of excellence alongside an amazing team, Edge has demonstrated their energy expertise by steering the project through complex design stages.
New Toronto Office
Reflecting on a monumental achievement in 2023, we proudly expanded our operations with the establishment of a new office in Toronto. This significant step marked not just our growth, but a deepened commitment to delivering innovative energy solutions to an ever-expanding audience. Over the past year, this expansion has opened numerous opportunities for collaboration and growth, enabling us to connect with clients and partners in the Toronto area.
Partnership with Peak Cx
Last year, our collaboration with Peak Cx set a new benchmark in building performance. We successfully merged our Building Performance expertise with their prowess in Commissioning and Verification. This partnership was pivotal in bridging the gap between expected and actual energy usage, elevating industry standards for energy-efficient building designs.
Looking back at 2023, our partnership with Peak Cx stands as a key highlight, exemplifying our commitment to advancing sustainable and efficient building methodologies.
Industrial Sustainability Landmark
We proudly took part in the completion of the 18899 24th Avenue development in Surrey, setting a new standard in sustainable industrial design with its LEED Silver certification goal. This project was a significant leap forward, replacing traditional fossil fuel systems with air-source heat pumps and incorporating low-carbon concrete, leading to a 16% reduction in embodied global warming potential.
Edge, as the Sustainability Lead, played a crucial role in this achievement. We provided comprehensive LEED Executive and Building Performance services, steering the project towards its ambitious sustainability goals. This venture also marked a very successful collaboration with Peak Cx, exemplifying the strength of our integrated approach in sustainable design.
