At Edge Consultants, Afsaneh is mainly focused on creating, publishing, and distributing content online. In addition to CRM marketing, in this role, she is responsible for creating the proposals and writing a response to RFPs. Throughout her degree, she took an interest in building systems and sustainability – as part of the Third Quadrant Design Team at UBC, she helped integrate passive cooling into a mixed-mode ventilation system and researched innovative, low-carbon materials for a new building on campus. Throughout various internships, Maira has gained experience with the use of novel sustainability-oriented technologies, as well as team collaboration and mechanical design experience.

Jake holds a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Environment Engineering from the University of Nottingham in the UK. During his studies, he combined his enthusiasm for sustainability with an interest in the built environment, and he was eager to pursue a career implementing more sustainable building practices. Following his degree, he gained valuable experience working for a consultancy company in the UK. In this role, he assisted installers of small-scale renewable energy systems in residential dwellings, providing both technical and policy insights to ensure the success of these installations.

Debalina holds a bachelor’s degree in materials engineering from the University of British Columbia, a program centered around research and innovation of sustainable materials and metals. Throughout her degree she developed an understanding of material properties, and how they can be optimized under different thermal and loading conditions.
She explored her interests for sustainable design processes in academia. She designed decolonization curriculum for undergraduate courses in collaboration with Indigenous engineers, elders, and professors. Through her work in course design, she developed an interest in sustainable building materials, tiny homes, and green building certifications.
