About the role:
Edge Consultants is seeking a Principal to grow our presence in Ontario. This role is based in Toronto and will serve as the market-facing representative of Edge in the province.
The successful candidate will be a practitioner in sustainability with a strong engineering background and 10+ years of industry experience. This individual will combine technical excellence with strategic leadership, driving business development, marketing initiatives, and project delivery across Ontario.
As a member of the leadership team, the Principal will lead Edge’s market presence in Ontario, manage and grow the local Toronto team, represent the firm to clients and industry stakeholders, and sell the full suite of Edge services across projects. This role requires a collaborative leader who thrives in multidisciplinary environments and is passionate about advancing sustainable, high-performance buildings.
Key responsibilities:
Market Leadership & Business Development
- Grow Edge’s market presence in Ontario.
- Develop and execute regional business development strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new project opportunities across all sectors.
- Represent Edge at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on brand positioning, marketing initiatives, and strategic partnerships.
Client & Project Leadership
- Serve as client liaison and lead select strategic projects as determined with senior leadership.
- Provide sustainability and engineering guidance across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure quality, clarity, and technical excellence across all Ontario project work.
- Support integrated project delivery alongside architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and building owners.
- Align project delivery with sustainability frameworks such as LEED, Zero Carbon Building Standard, Envision, and applicable provincial and national codes.
Team & Operational Leadership
- Manage and mentor the Toronto team, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and technical excellence.
- Support recruitment and team expansion in Ontario.
- Oversee project staffing and resource allocation
- Contribute to company-wide Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
- Work collaboratively across the national Edge teams to ensure alignment and shared knowledge.
Strategic Contribution
- Actively participate as part of Edge’s leadership team.
- Contribute to company strategy and long-term growth planning.
- Strengthen Edge’s visibility in the Ontario market.
- Support cross-regional collaboration and national client development.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in sustainability or high-performance building design.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or eligible for registration with PEO (or equivalent provincial association).
- LEED, WELL, and other sustainability-related accreditations are highly desirable.
- Proven experience managing client-facing projects, leading multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
- Proven track record of business development and client relationship management.
- Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks, decarbonization strategies, and energy transition planning.
- Experience delivering complex projects across institutional, healthcare, or infrastructure sectors.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence representing an organization.
- Experience managing and mentoring technical teams.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance technical delivery and market growth.
- Proactive mindset with a desire to continuously improve internal processes, workflows, and project delivery methods.
- Solutions-oriented approach, with a passion for problem-solving and a drive to implement practical, effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive annual salary.
- Annual bonuses based on OKRs, typically in the region of 10% of base salary.

- 12:30 finish on Fridays.
- 4 weeks paid vacation.
